The line of Jesus is quite full
of men of great renown.
It starts with Abraham, whose pull
draws David’s royal crown.
But seen within are those, whose poor
and meager lives are low.
A prostitute and Gentile moor
their hopes on blessed Shiloh.
The Father of this Saving Lord
is Ruler of all things,
Whose value is alone The Word
of which Creation sings.
He left His stable Home on High.
Came to the world through stable birth,
restraining Glory, that His first cry
did not create another Earth.
He is the greatest heritage.
Christ Jesus. Man and God.
He lived, died, rose. His parentage
brings Hope we’ll aye applaud.
