“Trust in The Lord with all thine heart and lean not on thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6, KJV)
The Lord, who is the greatest Dad,
grows faith by playing games.
The darknesses, that seem so bad
perform His greatest aims.
In “Peek-a-Boo” the earthly man
will teach the child he’s there
by hiding his own face by plan,
until next smile they share.
The Lord of Glory hides His, too,
but not to harm His son.
The days of Earth are all quite few,
until the vict’ry’s won.
The darknesses are just as blest
in growing lovely plants.
If all is sun, there’s never rest.
No peace it ever grants.
The “Hide-n-Seek” of God Above
is invitation fair.
He wants to teach you all His Love,
to hide you with Him there.
The lover, who plays “Hard-to-Get”
is showing greater heart
than one, whose known by daily fret,
whose fearful of each part.
The strongest metal’s tempered hard
by hot and cold, repeat.
The Lord thus makes us Wisdom’s Bard,
enduring, strong, complete.
“Oh, Lord, I wish to know Your Face.
I wish to hear your heart.
“I wish the warmth of Love’s embrace,
ensuring You’ll ne’er part.”
“I pray, that You would make complete
this still-so-childish heart.
“I pray for fellowship so sweet
made lasting from the start.”
“I know, that I must wait until
this earthly life is through,
“before I’ll understand Your Will
and be fore’er with You.”
“Please, give me days of knowing in
my deepest Knower Place,
“then gladly, steps removed from sin,
know warmth of Your Blessed Grace.”
“I see Your games bring wisdom rare.
Your hiding is for peace.
“You grow me past all earthly care
to point of great release,”
“But, Savior, I confess this day,
my heart at weary times,
“still longs to see Your Face displayed
in smiles of visual rhymes.”
“So blind I walk through shadowlands
as Lewis wisely wrote,
“but in Your Heaven trees shed bands
of light, not opaque coat.”
“Submit I do, again, myself,
unto Your glorious plans
“for days upon an earthly shelf
give way to Heaven’s grands.”
